Odd Man Out – Investigates the misfit man through the characters and aesthetic of cult classic films portraying “Americana” : “Kids” Harmony Korine and Larry Clark, “Buffalo ‘66” Vincent Gallo, “Blue Velvet” David Lynch and “Gummo” Harmony Korine.This collection also draws inspiration from Richard Avedon’s photography book “In the American West”. Odd Man Out takes classic “American” pieces such as the denim jacket, jeans, check print and reinterprets them through quilting and unorthodox fabrics. 90’s American skate culture is a key influence on the silhouettes and layering in the collection, exploring pockets as a way of emulating layering. This is combined with odd, feminine, sleazy nightwear pieces creating the perverse, sexualized and eccentric character of the misfit man.
